About

Our mission is to report, educate, showcase, and build a community of open-minded learners. We are an independent newspaper written by the students for the students.  We strengthen the community by showcasing student work, elevating students’ stories, and celebrating student events. We are the mirror, the marketplace, and the watchdog where CCRI can come together as a collective and share multiple perspectives.

Our History

In Fall of 2025, Journalist Ciarra Muller and Filmmaker Riley Sullivan founded The Knight Times in the Communication and Media Department with instruction from Chair Sandra Luzzi Sneesby and Professor Jennifer O’Rourke. Muller and Sullivan set a standard of excellence and together, they built a formidable, invincible media outlet.

Values –

Curiosity, Knowledge, and Independence –

At The Knight Times we love learning new things, about the world around us and our little world here at CCRI. We love learning from our staff and students. Our interviews and showcases don’t only showcase the incredible people that go to this school. They also help us, the editors and journalists to grow and learn from a variety of subjects.

Community, Unity, and Collaboration –

At the Knight Times, we enjoy working together to produce the best stories possible to our readers. We also would like to emphasize that one of our most important values is community. With so much negativity in the news, we really just want to bring our students and faculty even closer together, through events and showcasing each other’s works.

Connection, Communication, and Perspective –

At The Knight Times, we love to hear from other members of the CCRI community, whether it is opinions on certain issues or experiences here at CC. Our writers have been given a voice which they use to give voices to all students at CCRI. We want to make as many people feel heard as we possibly can.

Fairness, Respect, and Humanism –

At The Knight Times, we see every story as important, as they all have meaning to someone. We take great care in making sure each story is written with thought and consideration. We want everyone to feel heard.
